The purpose of this statement is to explain to you what personal information we collect and how we may use it.

When you register for employment we ask for data about you to assist you with the recruitment process, such as your name, address, telephone numbers, e-mail address, work and education history, and your responses, plus your nationality, which we are required to collect by law. If you are registering for temporary employment, we will also ask you for your National Insurance Number and bank details.

 

We use your personal information only to assist the recruitment process.  We collect and process sensitive personal data only so far as is necessary for internal administration purposes, including payroll, and to ensure we conform with legal requirements, for example under the equality of opportunity laws. By using this website and by registering your details with us, you consent to us collecting and processing sensitive personal data supplied by you, to disclosing this information to prospective employers and clients in connection with the recruitment process, and to disclosing this information to appropriate government bodies as required by law.

 

We only pass on your personal information to prospective employers once you have registered with us and given consent via participation in our application process. This is to aid the recruitment process. We do not sell, rent or exchange your personal information with any other third party for any other commercial reasons.

 

To prevent unauthorised access, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information that you have given us, in accordance with the UK data protection legislation.

 

We do not collect sensitive information about you except when you specifically and knowingly provide it. Under the Employment Agencies Act Seyner Benson is obliged to hold your data for 12 months after it was last used. However, candidates who have been placed either in a permanent or temporary role must have their records kept for a minimum of 6 years.  After more than 6 years the information will be destroyed unless the candidate has been re-placed in another permanent role or has worked as a temporary employee.  Temporary employee records must be kept for a minimum of 6 years after termination of their last temporary placement.

 

We will not transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) without first obtaining your consent.
